The Flesh Tearers is the smallest second founding and successor chapter of the Blood Angels, previously counting only four complete Astartes companies in their nadir before the devastation of Baal.

They are loyalists of the emperor of humanity, although their great affliction with the genetic flaws of their primate Sanguinius and the resulting brutality led to their investigation on charges of heresy by the Inquisition. They were cleared of suspicion at the time.
